Let’s start with some surprising facts: Norweigan drivers own more Nissan Leafs and Tesla Model S reservations than the entire United States. That means that electric car supporters in the US can learn a few things from how Norway handles electric vehicles.
11% Are Very Likely To Buy or Lease A Car This Year
The Rasmussen Report surveyed 1000 Americnas and revealed that only 28% of them were at least somewhat likely to buy or lease a car in 2013. Only 11% are very likely to buy a car.
Feds want to turn up the volume on battery cars.
Electric vehicles lack the engine noise of more traditional models but that might make them more dangerous, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. They have proposed a new rule that would require automakers of electric vehicles to include some kind of warning sound – a simulated engine noise or beeping – that would warn people of the car’s approach.
