General Motors Recalls 2.4 Million Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn Cars

Recall 1 - Pontiac

Thursday, May 15, 2014 | General Motors announces five new recalls affecting another 3 million vehicles in the U.S.

The Issue
A wiring problem could cause the brake lamps to fail to light up when the brakes are applied, or to light up when the brakes are not engaged, the company said. Cruise control, traction control, electronic stability control and panic braking assist operation can also be disabled.

Affected Vehicles
2.4 million cars in the U.S. are affected, including:

  1. 2004-2012 Chevrolet Malibu
  2. 2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
  3. 2005-2010 Pontiac G6
  4. 2007-2010 Saturn Aura

If Your Vehicle is Affected
GM will notify owners, but in the meantime, contact your dealer or call Chevrolet at 800-222-1020, Pontiac at 800-762-2737 or Saturn at 800-553-6000 with any questions.

The Fix
Dealers will replace the faulty parts for free.
