General Motors Recalls 477 Chevrolet and GMC Full-Size Trucks and SUVs

Recall 2 - Tahoe

Thursday, May 15, 2014 | General Motors announces five new recalls affecting another 3 million vehicles in the U.S.

The Issue
The steering system’s tie-rod can detach and cause loss of steering.

Affected Vehicles
477 full-size 2014-2015 pickup trucks and SUVs in the U.S. are affected, including:

  1. some 2014 Chevrolet Silverados
  2. some 2014 GMC Sierras
  3. some 2015 Chevrolet Tahoes

If Your Vehicle is Affected
Please do not drive it. Letters were sent via overnight mail to owners on May 14 with repair information. Truck owners shouldn’t even drive their trucks to dealers for repairs; GM will send a flatbed truck to pick up the vehicles.

The Fix
Inner tie rods will be inspected to ensure proper torque. Steering gear will be completely replaced if necessary.

*If your vehicle is affected by this recall, please contact your local dealer to arrange a service appointment. *
