The inspirational story of James Robertson has become an Internet sensation.

Robertson has, for years, been walking 21 miles per day to work and back. He lives in Detroit and walks to work at a suburban location. Once people heard about his story, financial contributions poured in for Robertson, totaling more than $300,000.

The kicker, though, was that Robertson also received a brand spanking new, shiny red 2015 Ford Taurus from a local Detroit dealer.

2015-Ford-Taurus-interiorWhy a Taurus? Well, it was actually Robertson’s choice. As he told reporters, the Taurus is “Cool on the outside, tough on the inside. Just like me.”

With that amazing endorsement in mind, we thought taking a quick look at the 2015 Ford Taurus made sense.

The new Taurus is available in four trim levels: SE Sedan, SEL Sedan, Limited Sedan and SHO Sedan.

Automotive press sources report that the model’s engine choices include the base 288-horsepower V-6 or an optional, turbocharged “EcoBoost” 240-horsepower four-cylinder. A 365-horsepower turbocharged V-6 powers the SHO, which also gets a firmer suspension and all-wheel drive.

2015-Ford-Taurus-rearAs Motor Trend reports, the new Taurus gains three new exterior colors, an available lane-keeping system, standard power adjustable pedals with memory on Limited models, and hands-free keyless entry on the SEL and SHO grades. Additionally, heated and cooled front seats, and power tilt/telescoping steering wheel are also now available on the Taurus SHO.

Car and Driver, in a recent review, said, “We like—but don’t love—the Taurus. It comes with lots of comfort features, but interior space is surprisingly tight.”

That’s ironic, given that, when Robertson was shown his new car, he told Reuters, “I don’t like it…I love it.”
