There’s something about fall that makes it a great time for car shows. Maybe it’s that twinge of nostalgia enthusiasts feel when they’re around classic autos mixing with the bittersweet coolness of a perfect Autumn day. It’s a great time of year for a weekend road trip and if show cars are your thing there are plenty of opportunities to see the best around. Let’s gas up the roadster and take a quick tour of some of the best car events in the region.
15th Annual Stiftungsfest Classic Car, Truck and Tractor Show and 3rd Annual Car Cruise: August 27, 2016. Norwood Young America, MN. — Besides winning the prize for longest event name this show in Norwood Young America has a little bit of everything. The show starts at 12:30 p.m., the cruise begins around 4 p.m. with awards in a variety of categories to follow.
**Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance: August 28, 2016. Milwaukee, MN. — **More than 200 unique motorcars, motorcycles and more recently boats are selected from all over the world and invited to celebrate automotive art and history. A casual car show on Saturday, August 27th known as Show & Glow by the Lake was established as a companion event has grown to nearly 400 entries – a completely separate roster of fine vehicles than those seen on Sunday.
**Osceola Wheels and Wings and Radar Run: September 10, 2016. Osceola, WI — **Last year over 800 classics gathered at the Osceola Airport and this year is expected to be even bigger. The event hosts a Radar Run that allows you to line up on the runway and floor it for a quarter mile. You’ll see everything from dragsters, rat rods and hot rods to motorcycles, mini-vans, school busses and even a dump truck version of the Radar Run.
**Penn Fest. September 18, 2016: Richfield, MN — **A fun event in the heart of lovely Richfield, MN. With awards and trophies for classes including Pre-49, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and newer. Live Music and awards throughout. Sports Cars, Classic Cars, Muscle Cars, Tuner and Sport Compact, Exotics, Motorcycles.
