Stellantis has good intentions on developing battery-electric vehicles for their North American lineup. The company already found success with BEVs across their European lineup. Therefore, the previous CEO of the global company mandated that their North American brands follow suit.
They came up with two offerings. One, is the Dodge Charger Daytona. The other is the Jeep Wagoneer S.
Originally intended to join the sub-brand of luxury SUVs within the Jeep family, the Wagoneer S was integrated into the iconic nameplate’s lineup. It also compliments the current Grand Cherokee size-wise – albeit slightly shorter in length and wheelbase.
You could mistake this as a more refined looking version of the Grand Cherokee. It is lower and sleeker than the popular mid-size SUV. The front end displays Jeep’s seven-slot grille, but in a non-functional and illuminated way. There is a lower grille on the bumper, along with LED lighting units. The roofline is sleeker, leading to a LED lighting element running across the tailgate. There is a wing spoiler that is perched over the rear glass. 
Our Launch Edition tester came with a black contrasting roof color and a set of 20-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels – also in black. By looking at it, you can tell that this is a completely upscale Jeep.
Inside follows current Jeep design elements. There are five distinct screens in front of the driver and front passenger, including a head-up display, a digital instrument cluster, a screen for the “comfort” control om the center stack, plus the center infotainment touchscreen and front passenger display. You will find a mix of tactile and haptic touch controls throughout the cabin, along with a rotary transmission controller. 
There is seating for five across two rows, swathed in leather upholstery. The front seatbacks are firm, while the cushions are more compliant. Rear seat room was quite spacious, even with good headroom above the panoramic roof. For cargo space, you start with 37.4 cubic feet behind the rear seats. That expands to 61.0 cubic feet with the seats down. You also get a three cubic feet space underneath the hood up front.
Every Jeep Wagoneer S is powered by a two-motor drive system, one located at each axle. In total, our Launch Edition puts down 600 horsepower with 617 pound-feet of torque. Energy comes from a 100.5-kilowatt-hour battery on a 400-volt system. We were able to charge up a full battery to a 250-mile range.
With that kind of power, you expect very quick acceleration off the mark. It does well in highway traffic, also. You will find only the drone from the electric drive system as the only noise you will hear while you run this 2025 Wagoneer S to where you need to go.
Ride quality is best described as solid. There is a bit of firmness in the suspension, but you should be aware of the weight of the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S. It handles quite well, with nominal lean and roll through evasive maneuvers or at any turns. The Wagoneer S is very well behaved overall.
With the flat top and bottom steering wheel, turning is quite good. So is on center feel, keeping the 2025 Wagoneer S within the lane. Brakes were also good and you do not feel the regeneration back to the battery pack when you stop. It does a fine job in normal and panic stops, as well. Pedal feel was also good. 
With just two trim levels available, pricing for the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S starts from $65,200. Our Launch Edition tester came with a sticker price of $72,790.
As with the rest of the electric vehicle market, the mid-size SUV segment is fighting to remain relevant. There are plenty of choices in that segment to compare with the Wagoneer S. Those competitors include Tesla Model X, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Cadillac Vistiq, BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, Audi Q6 e-tron, Hyundai IONIQ 9, Kia EV9, VinFast VF 9, Lucid Gravity, Rivian R1T, and Subaru Trailseeker.
While some Jeep customers would rather have the capability of a Grand Cherokee or any other vehicle in its lineup, the 2025 Wagoneer S is certainly something to look at. If you like premium EVs, this could be one to put on your shopping list.
