Please save this cool car from my wife. She keeps bumping into things, and things keep bumping into her. Luckily she's never had an incident where she's been hurt even slightly. But the car has been in an abusive relationship. And it's time for you to save it.
Did you know insurance can deem your car totaled in VA when only 70% of the "actual cash value" (this is the term commonly used and abbreviated, ACV, which is not really the "actual" "cash" "value") is required to repair the vehicle? I also learned that when that happens they immediately report it to the DMV and then you have to legally register it as a salvage title. That's right. No choice. No appeal. A perfectly drive-able vehicle with only cosmetic damage can be declared garbage, and then insurance will not give you enough to replace the vehicle you had. Good luck negotiating. For many months. To no avail.
So I have this car, and it has some bumps and bruises. But it's a mechanically sound, reliable vehicle. And it has like every option I think. Plus a turbo with paddle shifters. It's kinda cool. I had her take it for inspection, which is done (January 2025), and now I'm having her go through the process of having the salvage title updated to a "rebuilt title", which it will forever have now thanks to our overlords. I'm hoping a car enthusiast will take over the car and mod it the way they want. It's always been 100% stock.
The damage I am aware of terrible curb rash (but two of the wheels were replaced within the last year I think), passenger side door is dented a bunch, passenger side mirror has damage (but camera works), rear bumper right side damage, driver's side mirror paint.. bad (I don't know what happened?), part of the front spoiler might be missing (maybe?), driver's side rear light cover cracked, rear floor damage that she covered with duct tape, and passenger seat/headliner airbag came out.. this is what finally did it. Pictures show everything I believe. High mileage, but it's from all the long road trips she took to different states across the US. She changed oil regularly and on time (she did actually love the car, despite beating it up).
